Review by Robert Eddy

Hi Kayla,

I bought your book when you were signing at Costco on Bragaw, but I had a couple of other books going at the time, including a 600 page tome called Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes.  I just finished your book this morning.

Good job.  Kind of reminds me of Cormac McCarthy's writing but without the graphic violence. Sort of a bleak feel to your story.  I can't say I really felt connected in any way to Trevor, Forrest Sarah, Blaine, or Laney, but I never feel connected to McCarthy's characters, and he's one of my favorite authors.  You have a good ear for dialogue.

Well, thanks again for the great book.  I'll leave it on my coffee table and brag to my friends that I know Alaska author Kayla Hunt!

All the best,

Robert Eddy
